Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Break
Christmas at Whitley Hall is a truly magical experience. What could be more festive than celebrating this most special occasion relaxing in the luxurious surroundings of our 16th century country manor house. Nestled in the rolling countryside of South Yorkshire our unique hotel is full of old world charm and character. With our cosy bars and lounges, roaring open fires, the finest cuisine prepared by our talented kitchen team and a full range of hot and cold beverages we have everything on hand to make your Christmas break truly memorable.
A mandatory 5% service charge is added to all Christmas Break bills upon departure.
Christmas Eve
A warm welcome awaits you from our dedicated staff team who will be on hand throughout your stay to ensure you have everything you need. Arrive from 2pm and enjoy a mini afternoon tea. You will then check in to your room from 3pm. Once you have settled in and before dinner why not pop down to one of our cosy lounges and bars, sit back, relax, let our staff team take care of you and let your break truly begin. If you are feeling a little more energetic then you can take a stroll around the grounds or the local area and build up your appetite ready for your evening dinner.
A four course dinner will then be served in our award winning Restaurant 1584 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Your evening will be finished off by some traditional carols sung by our own ‘Whitley Hall Choir’ to really get you in the festive spirit. You can then retire to your bedroom or maybe enjoy a digestif before bed in front of a warming fire.

Christmas Day Morning
Christmas Day will be a relaxed start to your day and will begin Santa’s Little Helpers delivering a continental breakfast to your bedroom for you to enjoy at your leisure whilst opening all those presents! One all those gifts have been opened and breakfast enjoyed then you may be off to visit friends and family in the area to continue your own celebrations. If however you are staying with us then join us downstairs for a warming drink or maybe take a wander around the grounds and see if you can catch a glimpse of the resident peacock family.

Christmas Day Lunch
Christmas Day Lunch can be added on to your break for a special price of £150 per person and this will be served between 12-1pm.
Head Chef Ian Spivey and his talented kitchen team will prepare a delicious 8 course festive lunch for you to enjoy in the traditional surroundings of our Restaurant 1584. Christmas Day Lunch is only available for over 18’s so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the finest of freshly prepared British food finished to perfection. And the best part, there’s no washing up to do afterwards!
After lunch take in a breath of fresh air around the local area or if that sounds far too energetic for a Christmas Day afternoon then we have a selection of board games, cards and dominoes available in the main lounge to while away a lazy afternoon in front of the fire.

Christmas Day Afternoon & Evening
Whether you will be returning to us after a day spent with family and friends or you’ve spent the afternoon playing a few board games we will finish off your Christmas Day celebrations with a plentiful but light evening buffet with a glass of fizz. On the menu will be a full dressed salmon, baked marmalade glazed ham, a selection of salads and snacks along with desserts and of course a traditional cheese platter.
After dinner you can retire to your bedroom or enjoy a drink in the bar or lounge before heading off to bed.

Boxing Day Breakfast
If you’re leaving us today then before you head off we will be serving a hot breakfast in the restaurant before setting off on your journey home. You will be able to choose from a range of options including a full English breakfast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and eggs benedict. We will also have a range of cereals, fresh fruit juices, fresh fruit salad and chefs homemade granola and berry compote available.
Check out time is then at 11am.

If two nights isn’t enough and you’re not quite ready to return to normality just yet then why not extend your stay and add on an extra night to include Boxing Day.
