The history of the house is evident in this room with an original Yorkshire stone wall running the length of the room which is engraved with the date of its construction along with the name of the man responsible for its building, William Parker, hence the name of this delightful, unique area of the hotel.
Civil ceremonies for up to 60 guests take place overlooking the perfectly manicured courtyard followed by a drinks reception on the private heated terrace area. It also boasts its own lake and pier complete with a small bandstand area for those idyllic photographs.
This self contained, private suite is the ideal choice for those looking for charm, elegance and absolute serenity to celebrate their perfect day.
Picture & Wordsworth Rooms
These two rooms are steeped in history and this is unmistakeable from the moment you step through their doors. Mary Queen of Scots is reported to have spent the night here during her detention at Sheffield castle and did allegedly commission the ceiling which is still in situ today in the Picture Room. These rooms overlook the main courtyard of the hotel and boast stunning views across our extensive gardens from their original sash windows.
These tranquil wood panelled rooms are licenced for civil ceremonies of up to 20 people. You can then dine in style around a banquet table with your nearest and dearest family and friends amidst the backdrop of our beautiful 16thcentury manor house.
