The Whitley Suite has access to the
garden and can accommodate up to a maximum of 100 guests
for
both the daytime and evening reception. This charming
room provides a cosy and welcoming atmosphere and is
one of three rooms licenced for civil ceremonies.
On Saturdays the minimum number of guests for this
room is 60 adults for the wedding breakfast together
with 85 adults for the evening buffet. Numbers for
Fridays and Sundays in this room are subject to management
approval. There is no minimum requirement on any other
day. Please note that we are unable to accept reservations
for daytime only or evening only receptions on Saturdays
in the Whitley Suite. May we suggest that you consider
the Parker Room as day time alternative.
To allow time for your photographs
we recommend that your wedding service should take place
at around 2.00pm and that the meal should be served
around 4.00pm in order to prevent guests from becoming
too peckish! (We recommend no later than 5pm)
The Picture Room is full of character with wood panelling,
oil painting and an original ceiling reputedly commissioned
by Mary, Queen of Scots (before she lost her head!)
and is ideal for a small reception of up to 12 people.
This room is also licenced for civil ceremonies.
The Wordsworth is an attractive room on the first
floor overlooking the gardens and provides an excellent
setting for parties of up to 16 guests or alternatively
up to 20 guests seated on two tables.
The Parker Room dating back to 1584 is licenced for
Civil Ceremonies and provides a traditional and elegant
setting for a daytime reception for up to 40 guests.
The Parker Room and Restaurant can be combined to seat
up to 100 guests. The hotel’s facilities will
not be available after 4.30pm and the hotel should
be vacated by this time, as we have to prepare for
our evening hotel guests. Your wedding ceremony should
be arranged early enough to reflect this and we would
recommend a morning ceremony.
If your numbers are in excess of those quoted for the
Whitley Suite or Parker Room we are able to offer you
the exclusive use of the hotel during your wedding day.
Exclusive use of the hotel is subject to an additional
charge of £3,000 for half an exclusive and £4,500
for full exclusive use. Please contact the hotel direct
for details. The requirements are to reserve 20 bedrooms
for
half an exclusive, and 30 bedrooms if full exclusive
use is booked. For either half or full exclusive use
of the hotel there must be a minimum of 60 guests for
the wedding meal and a minimum of 150 guests for the
evening reception. If you are unable to reserve the
required number of bedrooms and have a shortfall of
60/150 guests you will incur the costs.
